2004 Volvo XC Overview

The 2004 Volvo XC90 is part of the model’s first generation, which debuted in 2003. Upholding Volvo's reputation for safety, it offered Roll Stability Control technology that could initiate preventive measures if a rollover were detected. It was available in three trims: 2.5T, T6 AWD, and T6 AWD Premier. The 2.5T had a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine that provided 208 horsepower, while the T6 models got a 2.9-liter twin-turbo inline-six with 268 horsepower. Both engines came paired with a five-speed automatic transmission and featured Volvo’s Geartronic manual-shift feature. T6 versions of the XC90 were all-wheel drive, while the 2.5T came with an option of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. For infotainment, an in-dash CD player was standard while a navigation system was optional. The 2004 Volvo XC90 was honored with North American Car of The Year award for its safety innovations, luxury and value.
