The 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 is a heavy-duty workhorse, known for its powerful performance and hauling capability. Part of the first generation, it was made available in several trims including the LS and LT, in regular cab, extended cab, and crew cab configurations. Three engines were offered: a 6.0-liter V8 with 300 horsepower, a higher-torque 8.1-liter V8 with 330 hp, and a 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel V8 with 300 hp.
