The 2005 Lincoln LS is part of the first and only generation released by the luxury automaker. While sharing some design elements with the Jaguar S-Type and Ford Thunderbird, the LS projected its own unique style. Two engine options were available: a 3.0-liter V6 delivering 232 horsepower and a 3.9-liter V8 producing 280 horsepower. Both were paired with a five-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, allowing the driver optional manual control. Models were available in Luxury, Premium, and Sport trims. Key safety options included traction control and optional side airbags. A key tech highlight of this model was the available touchscreen navigation system, included within the Ultimate Package. For 2005, Lincoln revised the front and rear fascias slightly, while also reconfiguring packaging and options.
