The 2005 Porsche Boxster belongs to the car's second generation and represented a notable upgrade from its predecessor. This rear-wheel-drive, 2-seat roadster comes with either a manual five-speed transmission or an optional five-speed automatic. It is offered in base and S trims. The base model features a 2.7-liter six-cylinder engine producing 240 horsepower, while the Boxster S packs a 3.2-liter six-cylinder engine with 280 horsepower. Highlights include a well-appointed interior, excellent handling, and a power-operated soft-top roof. For safety, it includes dual front airbags, side-impact airbags, and anti-lock brakes. An interesting fact was the introduction of the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) in the 2005 models.
