The 2005 Toyota Highlander is part of the first generation of its line, spoiling consumers with a car-like ride and roomy interior. Powered by a 2.4L four-cylinder engine delivering 155 horsepower, it also comes with an optional 3.3L V6 engine delivering 230 horsepower. All versions come with a five-speed automatic transmission, with options for either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. There were three trims available: base, Sport, and Limited. The Highlander was also offered with optional third-row seating, offering versatility to families. Safety equipment included anti-lock brakes, traction control, and stability control standard across all trims. The optional third-row seat came with additional side curtain airbags.
