2005 Volkswagen New Beetle Convertible Overview

The 2005 Volkswagen New Beetle Convertible fits in the retro-themed trend with an appealing blend of design nostalgia mixed with modern touches. Available in GL, GLS, and GLS Turbo trims, all powered by a FWD drivetrain. The GL and GLS trims are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 115 hp, while the GLS Turbo traded up for a 1.8-liter turbocharged four producing 150 hp. Both engines were paired with a five-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include a powered convertible top, heated exterior mirrors, power windows, and keyless entry. Safety features include standard anti-lock brakes and front side airbags. For the 2005 model year, a new top-of-the-line, leather-trimmed 'GLS 1.8T' model named 'New Beetle Dark Flint Edition' was also introduced.
