2005 Volvo XC90 Overview

The 2005 Volvo XC90 is part of the first-generation line, and it exemplifies Volvo's commitment to safety. The midsize luxury SUV offers a choice between FWD or AWD drivetrains, and three engines: a 208-hp 2.5-liter turbocharged I5, a 268-hp 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged I6, and a 311-hp 4.4-liter V8. A five-speed automatic transmission was standard for the I5 and I6, while a six-speed automatic came with the V8. Standard safety gear includes antilock brakes, stability control, roll stability control, front-seat side airbags and full-length curtain-type airbags. Inside, you find a cabin outfitted with rich materials and innovative details, such as an available built-in child booster seat and optional navigation system with a pop-up screen.
