The 2006 Buick Rainier is a part of Buick's robust tradition of crafting luxuriously appointed SUVs. It belonged to the first and only generation of the Rainier, produced from 2004-2007. It was available in two trims: CXL and CXL Plus, with a choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Under the hood, two engine options were offered. A competent 4.2-liter inline-six generated 291 horsepower, while a more powerful 5.3-liter V8 provided 300 horsepower, both mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Standard features included OnStar, leather upholstery, power-adjustable seats, dual-zone climate control, and a CD player. The Rainier also came standard with GM's StabiliTrak stability control system, providing enhanced safety on unpredictable surfaces. However, despite its multiple conveniences and luxury options, the Rainier didn't live beyond 2007.
