The 2006 Cadillac DTS, a part of the fourth and last generation of the DeVille series, is an upscale, full-size sedan that offered both luxury and power. The front-wheel-drive DTS offered two engine options, both 4.6-liter V8s, with the standard version generating 275 horsepower while a high-output variant supplied 292 horsepower. Both engines are paired with a smooth-shifting 4-speed automatic transmission. The car came in a single opulent trim level initially, but Performance and Luxury packages were later added, providing even more opulent options. In terms of tech, it was quite advanced for its time and featured an available navigation system, Bluetooth, and OnStar telematics. An optional Driver Awareness package added safety features like blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.
