The 2006 Chevrolet HHR is part of the first generation of this compact retro-styled wagon model from GM. This front-wheel-drive wagon was available with two engine options, the 143 horsepower 2.2-liter 4-cylinder, and the more potent 172 horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder mated with a five-speed manual transmission or optional four-speed automatic. It was offered in two trim levels, LS and LT, with the latter further split into 1LT and 2LT sub trims. Standard safety features included electronic stability control, antilock brakes, and front-seat side airbags. On the tech front, it provided a simple yet functional infotainment system with AM/FM stereo, CD player, and MP3 playback capability. Notable features for this model year included a height-adjustable driver seat, fold-flat front passenger seat, and a split-folding rear seat for extended cargo space.
