The 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT is a part of the first and only generation of the Trailblazer lineup. It's an extended length, seven-seater version of the standard Trailblazer, positioned as a versatile midsize SUV. Under the hood, the Trailblazer EXT had two engine options: a 291-horsepower 4.2L inline-six and a 300-hp 5.3L V8. Both engines were mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive was standard, with optional four-wheel drive. There were three trim levels: LS, LT, and top-tier LTZ, all featuring a decently equipped infotainment system for its time, but Smartphone integration like Apple CarPlay or Android Auto were not available. Safety-wise, it had standard abs brakes, stability control, and dual front impact airbags, lacking some more sophisticated driver-assist features present in newer models. Unfortunately, the Trailblazer was criticized for a mediocre interior quality and lackluster fuel efficiency.
