The 2006 Dodge Magnum, notable for its unconventional station-wagon-meets-muscle-car design, is part of the first generation of this model, produced from 2005–2008. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, with all-wheel drive as an option. Engine options range from a 200-hp 2.7L V6, a 250-hp 3.5L V6 to two potent V8s: a 340-hp 5.7L and a 425-hp 6.1L in the high-performance SRT8 model. A five-speed automatic transmission is standard. Trim levels include SE, SXT, RT, and the performance-oriented SRT8. Standard key features included power windows and locks, keyless entry, and CD player while upper trims and optional packages added luxury amenities like leather seats, sunroof, and navigation. Safety features included standard front airbags, optional side curtain airbags and stability control. However, its rather poor fuel economy and subpar interior materials were among the criticisms during its era.
