The 2006 GMC Envoy is a midsize SUV from General Motors' truck-based lineup that was well-regarded for its spacious interior and solid towing capabilities. The Envoy came in four trims: the base SLE, SLT, the luxury Denali, and the extended XL. Two engines were available: a 4.2-liter inline-6 producing 291 horsepower and a 5.3-liter V8 churning out 300 horsepower that was exclusive to the Denali trim. A 4-speed automatic transmission was standard, with the option of either rear or four-wheel drive. Inside, the Envoy offered a well-equipped cabin with options for dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, a six-disc CD changer, and a Bose sound system. However, it lacked in more modern safety features, with antilock disc brakes, stability control, and full-length side curtain airbags being the only key safety systems.
