The 2006 Jeep Wrangler, a part of the model's third (TJ) generation, is a compact SUV well-known for its superb off-road capabilities. The Wrangler came with two engine options: a 2.4-liter inline-four producing 147 horsepower and a 4.0-liter inline-six providing 190 horsepower. These were paired with either a six-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Two basic trims were available: X and Unlimited, with higher sub-trims like Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon adding features and capabilities. Safety features were minimalist, as appropriate for its era, but included dual front impact airbags, integrated roll-over protection, and occupant-sensing airbag. Although the 2006 Wrangler didn't come with a lot of advanced tech, it had essentials like an AM/FM radio and a CD player. For the 2006 Wrangler, Jeep introduced its first four-door Unlimited variant following the SUV's significant refresh in 2005.
