2006 Mazda MAZDA6 Overview

The 2006 Mazda MAZDA6 represented the introduction of a bold and sporty choice to the midsize sedan segment. Available in s and i trims, the i trim was powered by a 2.3L four-cylinder engine that produced 160 horsepower, paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The s trim, on the other hand, sported a 3.0L V6 engine generating 215 horsepower with options of a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Two Sport models were added that year with more aggressive stylings. The MAZDA6 also offered key safety features including anti-lock brakes, front-seat side airbags, and full-length side curtain airbags. Despite the emphasis on performance and style, the 2006 MAZDA6 still managed to keep up in the comfort department, featuring a well-arranged cockpit with clear gauges and easy-to-use controls. Infotainment and tech highlights included an available navigation system and a six-disc CD changer.
