The 2006 Subaru Forester, part of the second generation, stands as a versatile compact SUV, recognized for its all-weather capability and robust reliability. Powered by a 2.5-liter boxer engine, it churns out between 173-210 horsepower depending on the trim, coupled with either a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission. Subaru’s triumphant Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is standard across all trims. The model lineup featured three trims: 2.5X, 2.5XS and the sportier 2.5XT, the last also offered in a Limited edition. They all come with anti-lock brakes and front-seat side airbags. The Forester received a slight face-lift this year with new headlamps and taillights. Inside, all models come with a CD player, while XT trims include automatic climate control and leather upholstery. Though it lacks some modern infotainment features, it compensates with its accomplished off-road ability and practicality.
