The 2006 Volvo V70 is part of the third generation of Volvo's V70 line. Commonly recognized as a luxury midsize wagon, it offered commendable comfort and safety. This model came with three trims: the base 2.4, the 2.5T, and the performance-focused R, each powered by a different engine. The base 2.4 housed a 2.4-liter 5-cylinder engine generating 168 horsepower, while the 2.5T upgraded to a turbocharged 2.5-liter 5-cylinder that produced 208 horsepower. The V70 R, at the helm of performance, boasted a 2.5-liter high-pressure turbocharged engine, producing a whopping 300 horsepower. Each engine was mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with Geartronic for manual shift control. A six-speed manual was exclusive to the V70 R. Standard features included dual-zone automatic climate control, full power accessories, cruise control, and an eight-speaker stereo with a CD/MP3 player. Safety was highly prioritized, with standard features such as antilock disc brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags, and full-length head curtain-type airbags. The car also featured Volvo's 'On Call Plus' telematics.
