The 2007 Volvo S40 is a compact luxury sedan from the Swedish automaker's second generation of the model. Two trims were available: the 2.4i and the T5. The 2.4i was powered by a 2.4-liter five-cylinder engine that produced 168 horsepower, while the T5 had a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder that delivered 218 hp. Both engines were paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The T5 offered all-wheel drive as an option, in addition to the standard front-wheel-drive layout for both versions. The S40 came with a decently sized list of standard features, including steering wheel audio controls and an auxiliary audio jack. Safety credentials of the 2007 S40 were impressive, with standard elements like antilock disc brakes, and a full complement of airbags.
