The 2008 Dodge Caliber, part of the first and only generation of this model, is a FWD compact hatchback that's also available in a performance-focused AWD version. The lineup includes four trims: the base SE, SXT, R/T, and top-performing SRT4. Engine options range from a 148-horsepower 1.8L 4-cylinder all the way up to a robust 285-horsepower 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder for the SRT4. A 5-speed manual is standard, with a CVT available on all but the SRT4. Inside, it offers an available MusicGate Power sound system, which includes speakers that can swing down from the open liftgate for tailgating. Safety features include front airbags, antilock brakes, and an optional security alarm. For 2008, all-wheel drive became available only on the R/T model.
