A midsize pickup, the 2008 Dodge Dakota offered several improvements compared to its predecessors. The second generation vehicle came with two configurations: Quad Cab or Extended Cab, and two drivetrain options: rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Equipped with a standard 210-hp 3.7L V6 engine, there was an optional 302-hp 4.7L V8 available, each mated to a four-speed or five-speed automatic transmission respectively. Inside, tech highlights included a touchscreen navigation system and Sirus Satellite Radio. Key safety features of the Dakota encompassed anti-lock brakes and a full complement of airbags. For 2008, Dodge also brought back the Dakota’s Sports and Laramie trims.
