The 2008 Subaru Outback is a versatile and rugged wagon with company's trademark symmetrical all-wheel-drive as standard. It's offered in six trims: 2.5i, 2.5i L.L. Bean, 2.5i Limited, 2.5i Limited L.L. Bean, 2.5 XT Limited, and 3.0 R L.L. Bean. Engine options include a 2.5-liter flat-4 that makes 175 horsepower, a turbocharged version of the 2.5-liter with 243 horsepower, and a 3.0-liter flat-6 with 245 horsepower. A four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission are available. High-tech amenities include satellite radio, navigation, and a dual-pane sunroof. Safety features consist of front-seat side airbags, four-wheel antilock disc brakes, and all-wheel drive. For 2008, the stability control is now standard on all trims.
