The 2009 BMW 1 Series, a part of the first generation of the 1 Series lineup, is a luxury small car available in two varieties - 128i and the sportier 135i. The base 128i is powered by a 230-horsepower inline-six engine, while the 135i boasts a twin-turbocharged inline-six engine with 300 horsepower. Both models come with a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional six-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard across the series. Inside, it’s stylish and well-built with notable features such as HD Radio, a sunroof, and automatic climate control. An iDrive infotainment system with an 8.8-inch display, navigation, and Bluetooth are available. Heated front seats and a sports-tuned suspension are optional in the 128i but standard in the 135i. Safety features include standard stability control, 4-wheel ABS, and a full complement of airbags.
