The 2009 Chrysler Aspen is a full-size, old-school SUV based on the Dodge Durango. It comes available in two trims: Limited and Limited HEV. The standard engine is a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 which produces 376 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. It also offers a 4.7-liter V8 with 303 horsepower for lower trims, both mated with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The Limited HEV trim introduces a hybrid version, the first from Chrysler, combining the HEMI engine with a battery-powered electric motor, providing similar power with improved fuel efficiency. The Aspen features a rear-wheel or four-wheel drivetrain and is capable of towing up to 8,950 pounds. Its infotainment system includes a standard AM/FM stereo with CD player, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, and optional navigation system. Safety features incorporate standard front-seat side airbags and standard side curtain-type airbags.
