The 2009 Dodge Dakota, in its final year of production, is a midsize pickup truck available in extended-cab (known as Club Cab) and crew-cab body styles. Positioned between compact trucks and full-size beasts, Dakota is offered in four trims: ST, Big Horn/Lonestar, TRX, and Laramie. Rear-wheel drive comes standard with an option for 4WD. Powering the Dakota is a 3.7-liter V6 engine that delivers 210 horsepower, while a 4.7-liter V8 that provides 302 horsepower is optional. A four-speed automatic transmission is paired with the V6 while a five-speed automatic is standard with the V8. The Dakota comes with standard safety features including front-seat side airbags, full-length side-curtain type airbags, and antilock brakes. However, it lacks modern infotainment features as it still uses a CD player as its main entertainment system feature.
