2009 Land Rover LR2 Overview

The 2009 Land Rover LR2 is part of the first generation of the compact luxury crossover SUV from the British automaker. Powered by a 3.2L inline-six engine, it delivers 230 horsepower, linked to a six-speed automatic transmission with CommandShift manual mode. Full-time all-wheel drive (AWD) with Haldex center differential is standard, embodying Land Rover's rich off-road lineage. Its Terrain Response system, adapted from larger models like the Range Rover, adjusts the vehicle's behavior to various surfaces (from pavement to gravel to snow). The LR2 offers two trims: Base and HSE, both sporting features like an Alpine stereo system, leather seats, and a panoramic sunroof. Key safety features include roll stability control, seven airbags and antilock brakes. However, its fuel efficiency is less impressive, typical of vehicles in its segment at the time.
