The 2009 Nissan Versa is part of the first generation of this compact car. It is available in two body styles - sedan and hatchback, with two trims each namely S and SL. Power comes from a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine producing 107 horsepower in the sedan, while the hatchback is powered by a more potent 122-hp 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. Both are mated to a standard 5-speed manual transmission, with an optional 4-speed automatic for the sedan and a 6-speed manual or a CVT available for the hatchback. Standard features include air conditioning, a CD stereo and cloth upholstery. Higher trims offer keyless ignition, Bluetooth, navigation, alloy wheels, and a sport body kit. In safety, expect standard front-seat side-impact airbags and side curtain-type airbags. The Versa also earns good safety ratings from NHTSA.
