The 2010 Cadillac Escalade ESV, based on the GMT900 platform, is the extended version of Cadillac's flagship large luxury SUV. With a traditional body-on-frame construction, it is offered with a 6.2L V8 engine that puts out 403 hp, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Both Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configurations are available. The vehicle comes in three trims - Standard, Luxury and Premium. Standard safety features include head curtain side airbags, seat-mounted side-impact airbags for driver and front passenger, anti-lock brakes, and stability control. The ESV also offers a sophisticated GPS navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, and an upgraded stereo with a six-disc CD/DVD changer. For 2010, Cadillac introduced Active Fuel Management, which deactivates half of the engine's cylinders when less power is needed, such as maintaining cruising speed.
