The 2010 Jeep Compass is part of the model's first generation. As for performance, it offers a four-wheel drive (4WD) system, and two engine options: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 158 horsepower and a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 172 horsepower, both mated with a five-speed manual or optional continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The Compass offers two trim levels: Sport and Limited. Notable safety features include stability control, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain-type airbags. Its basic infotainment setup involves a CD player with MP3 capability and an auxiliary audio input jack. No significant changes were made for the 2010 model year. Despite its off-road Jeep badge, the Compass is more suited to the city streets than a rugged trail.
