The 2010 Volkswagen Routan is part of the first and only generation of this model. This front-wheel-drive minivan is offered in four trims: S, SE, SEL and SEL Premium. Two engine options power the Routan: a 3.8-liter V6 with 197 horsepower for the S and SE trims, and a 4.0-liter V6 generating 251 horsepower for the SEL trims. Both engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Interior highlights include optional navigation, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, and Bluetooth phone connectivity. Safety features consist of anti-lock brakes, stability control, and multiple airbags. While the Routan shares much with its Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan relatives, it takes its styling and tuning cues from more traditional VW vehicles.
