The 2011 Acura TL, part of the car's fourth generation, is a luxury midsize sedan known for its comfortable ride and strong performance. It comes with either a 280-hp 3.5L V6 engine on the base model, or, in the high-performance SH-AWD model, a 3.7L V6 that produces 305-hp. Each is matched to a 5-speed automatic transmission, although a 6-speed manual is available with the SH-AWD. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions are offered. Inside, the TL has a well-appointed cabin, with standard features including an 8-inch display, a 10-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, and satellite radio. On the safety front, it includes front-seat side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags, active front restraints, stability control, and antilock brakes. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the 2011 TL its highest rating of Good in all tested categories.
