The 2011 Nissan Xterra is a compact SUV that's built for off-road pursuits but performs just as well on the daily drive. It's powered by a robust 4.0-liter V6 engine that supplies 261 horsepower and is available with either rear-wheel or four-wheel drivetrain options. Manual and automatic transmissions are also provided based on the trim level. There are three trims available: X, S, and Pro-4X. The Pro-4X offers specifically tailored features for off-road, including skid plates and a locking rear differential. Key safety features of the 2011 Xterra include stability control, antilock brakes, and multiple airbags. Inside, the Xterra surprises with decent infotainment; a six-speaker audio system with a CD player comes standard, with options to expand to a Rockford Fosgate premium audio system.
