2011 RAM Dakota Overview

The 2011 RAM Dakota represents the final year of the midsize pickup series from RAM, marking the end of an era. Offered in 4WD and RWD drivetrains, the Dakota was powered by either a 210-hp, 3.7-liter V6 or a 302-hp, 4.7-liter V8 engine, both mated to a 4-speed or 5-speed automatic transmission respectively. Trim levels included the base ST, midgrade Big Horn and the high-end Laramie. The Dakota offered a respectable towing prowess, with some models capable of pulling up to 7,250 pounds. Inside, the infotainment system wasn't as advanced as its contemporaries, although options for iPod/MP3 connectivity and satellite radio were available. The Dakota's safety features included front airbags, anti-lock brakes and an anti-skid system, but side-curtain airbags were notably absent. Despite its discontinuation, the Dakota is still recognized for its toughness and utility.
