The 2011 Volvo S40 is a compact luxury sedan of the second and final generation of S40 that was in production from 2004 to 2012. Two trims were available, the 2.4i and the T5 R-Design, each equipped with different engines. The 2.4i trim has a 2.4-liter 5-cylinder producing 168 horsepower and comes with front-wheel drive. The T5 R-Design features a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that puts out 227 horsepower and is equipped with a standard six-speed manual transmission, with an automatic optional. All-wheel drive is also an option on this trim. Key safety features include antilock disc brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length curtain-type airbags and whiplash-reducing front head restraints. A five-inch display for the audio system is standard, both trims also offering Bluetooth and an auxiliary audio input jack.
