The 2012 Dodge Journey is a midsize crossover SUV that comes with a choice between two engine options: a 173-hp 2.4L four-cylinder and a robust 283-hp 3.6L V6. Both engines are paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Journey comes with front-wheel drive (FWD) as standard, with an all-wheel drive (AWD) on offer. The Journey is available in five trims: American Value Package (AVP), SE, SXT, Crew and R/T. Standard features include keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone manual climate control, a 4.3-inch touchscreen, while the higher trims come with a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen, rearview camera, and parking sensors. Even though the 2012 Journey does not include advanced safety technologies we have become accustomed to in recent models, it scored well in crash tests by the IIHS.
