The 2012 Honda CR-Z is a compact hybrid-electric vehicle that unites the worlds of sporty performance and eco-conscious efficiency. It belongs to the first generation of its kind, touted as being the spiritual successor to the iconic Honda CRX. The CR-Z comes with a single powertrain—a 1.5L inline four-cylinder engine mated to an electric motor, producing a combined 122 horsepower. It is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, which is unusual for a hybrid, or an optional Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Two trims are offered: Base and EX. Standard features include full power accessories, keyless entry, a rearview camera, and auto climate control. The EX carries additional features like a 360-watt stereo system and Bluetooth. All CR-Z models include stability control, anti-lock brakes, and front, side, and side curtain airbags. The 2012 model year also marked the introduction of changes for improved performance and efficiency, including a Plus Sport System that provides an extra burst of speed.
