The 2012 Jeep Compass is a compact crossover, bearing design elements from the larger Jeep Grand Cherokee. Available in three trims: the base Sport, Limited and off-road-focused Latitude, the Compass is equipped with either the standard front-wheel drive or the optional all-wheel drive. Two engines are offered, a 2.0-liter inline-four with 158 horsepower and a 2.4-liter inline-four with 172 horsepower mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Standard features include power windows, locks and mirrors, air-conditioning, but the Compass also offers a variety of tech and comfort options. Key safety features include anti-lock brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags and curtain-type side airbags. This model didn't undergo any radical changes, keeping true to what Jeep stands for.
