The 2012 Jeep Patriot, part of the first and only generation of this compact SUV, is known for its off-road capability and Jeep's signature styling. Available in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, it comes in three trims: Sport, Latitude, and Limited. The standard engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 158 horsepower, though a 2.4-liter engine with 172 horsepower is optional. Transmissions include a 5-speed manual or a CVT (continuously variable transmission). Key features include antilock brakes, stability control, and traction control, with optional side curtain airbags. Infotainment includes an available Uconnect® system with Bluetooth and satellite radio. Though its interior and fuel economy were criticized, the Patriot stands out in off-road environments.
