The 2012 Nissan Frontier is part of the mid-size pickup's second generation, which started in 2005 and ended in 2020. The Frontier is available either in extended (King) or crew cab body styles. Power for the Frontier comes from two available engines, a 152-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a more powerful 261-hp 4.0-liter V6, mated with a 5-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard but a four-wheel-drive system is optional. There are four trim levels, S, SV, PRO-4X, and SL. The Frontier doesn’t have a generous list of standard tech amenities, but available ones include a 6.1-inch touch screen, a Rockford Fosgate premium audio system, and Bluetooth. Safety features include standard anti-lock brakes, stability control, and front and side-impact airbags.
