The 2013 Mazda3 is part of the model's second generation that spanned from 2010 to 2013. It's a compact car available in both sedan and hatchback body styles. Under the hood, the Mazda3 provides a choice between a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 155 horsepower and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 167 horsepower. Both engines are paired with either a five-speed automatic, a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. All models are front-wheel drive. Safety features on the Mazda3 include antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, active front head restraints, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. Standard infotainment features include a CD player, an auxiliary audio input and steering-wheel controls. Upper trims and optional packages add features like a navigation system, a premium Bose audio system, satellite radio, and Bluetooth connectivity. Notable for 2013, the Mazda3 gets a freshened design inside and out and new active safety features are also introduced such as the Smart City Brake Support that can automatically apply the brakes in city traffic if an accident is likely.
