The 2013 Nissan Frontier represents the second generation of the brand's midsize pickup truck. Two engines were offered: a 152-hp four-cylinder or a 261-hp V6, mated to either a five-speed automatic, five-speed manual, or six-speed manual transmission. The truck came with a choice of rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Key trims offered in this year include S, SV, Desert Runner, PRO-4X, and SL, with the Pro-4X being the off-road specialist of the group. Notable features included Nissan's Connect infotainment system, Bluetooth, and available satellite radio. All trims offered a reasonable level of standard safety features: vehicle dynamic control, anti-lock brakes, and a full array of airbags.
