The 2014 MINI Roadster is the last of its generation, offering a playful and involving driving experience. Available in three trims: Cooper, Cooper S, and John Cooper Works, each comes with a different powertrain. The base Cooper has a 1.6-liter inline-4 engine producing 121 horsepower, Cooper S boosts output to 181 horsepower with the help of a turbocharger, while John Cooper Works tunes up to an impressive 208 horsepower. All models come with a standard six-speed manual, whereas a six-speed automatic is optional for Cooper and Cooper S. The Roadster features front-wheel drive, dynamic stability control, and the usual suite of airbags, but lacks advanced safety technology. A manually operated soft top, air conditioning, and the MINI Connected infotainment system with a 6.5-inch display, HD Radio and Bluetooth are standard. Notable options include navigation, Harman Kardon audio, and automatic climate control.
