The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, part of the truck's third generation, is a versatile full-size pickup. It comes in three cab styles: regular, double and crew cab, and buyers can choose from short, standard, and long bed lengths. Power comes from three available engines: a 4.3-liter V6 producing 285 HP, a 5.3-liter V8 with 355 HP, and a 6.2-liter V8 churning out 420 HP. A six-speed automatic transmission comes as standard, although an eight speed automatic is available for the 6.2-liter and certain 5.3-liter models. Standard features on the Silverado's four main trims (WT, LT, LTZ, High Country) include a 4.2-inch display, Bluetooth and a six-speaker audio system, as well as standard safety features like antilock disc brakes and stability and traction control. Higher trims offer optional safety tech, like front and rear parking sensors and a rearview camera, while OnStar adds crash notification, roadside assistance and remote door unlocking.
