The 2016 BMW 4 Series is a part of the first generation, which debuted in 2013. The lineup includes sedans, convertibles, and four-door gran coupes available in three trims: 428i, 435i, and 435d xDrive. Powered by a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 engine producing 240 horsepower (255 for convertibles), the 435i and 435d feature a more potent 3.0-liter turbocharged I6 engine with output ranging from 300 to 313 horsepower. Both engine variants couple with an eight-speed automatic with an optional six-speed manual transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with xDrive models offering BMW's all-wheel-drive system. The Series shines in safety features, including adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and automatic parking system. For onboard tech, it boasts a 6.5-inch iDrive infotainment system, available navigation, Bluetooth, and HD radio. The 2016 model saw an enhanced standard equipment list and launched the M4 GTS high-performance variant.
