The 2016 Ford Escape is a compact SUV, part of the model's third generation. Available in three trims: S, SE, and Titanium, it offers several powertrain options including a 168-hp 2.5L four-cylinder engine, a turbocharged 178-hp 1.6L four-cylinder engine, and a turbocharged 240-hp 2.0L engine. All engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, with FWD standard and AWD optional. The Escape is well-equipped with features such as rearview camera, Ford’s SYNC infotainment system, and optional SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touch screen, voice recognition, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and navigation. The compact SUV comes with many available safety features including blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, and cross-traffic alert, but lacks the more advanced driver assistance features found in many of 2016’s new cars.
