The 2016 Ford Flex is a unique, boxy crossover that stands out in the crowd, harking back to the third production generation that originated in 2009. The Flex is available in three trim levels: SE, SEL and Limited, each offering FWD as standard, with an optional AWD system for increased traction. All trims other than Limited come with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 287 horsepower, while a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 that outputs 365 horsepower is available in Limited trims. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard across all models. Key safety features include an optional blind-spot warning system, forward collision warning and inflatable second-row seat belts. The Flex also offers Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touch screen, which includes voice recognition, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an optional navigation system. Although there were no significant upgrades for 2016, the Flex continues to win praise for its spacious interior and unique styling.
