The 2016 Ford Transit is offered in three main configurations consisting of a passenger wagon, a cargo van, or a cutaway. These are further customizable with three body lengths, three different roof heights and two wheelbase sizes. Power comes from a standard 3.7-liter V6 engine delivering 275 horsepower, with options to upgrade to a turbocharged 3.2-liter inline-5 diesel engine producing 185 horsepower or a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 310 horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, with rear-wheel drive. The Transit boasts Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system, capable of smartphone integration while also providing navigation and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Safety features include standard stability control, airbags and antilock brakes, with options for a rearview camera, lane keeping alert and a driver-alert function.
