Part of its third generation, the 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 is a full-size pickup truck that balances rugged capabilities with comfortable refinements. It comes in four distinct trims: the base Sierra, SLE, SLT, and top-of-the-line Denali. Under the hood, GMC offers three engines: a 4.3L V6 making 285 hp, a 5.3L V8 cranking out 355 hp, and a hefty 6.2L V8 delivering 420 hp. All engines come with a six-speed automatic transmission, but the 6.2L can be paired with an eight-speed. Both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive variants are offered. The Sierra 1500 has GMC's IntelliLink infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen as standard, with navigation being an optional upgrade. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included. For safety, the Sierra includes antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front and rear seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. Advanced safety features such as a lane-departure warning system, a forward collision alert system and the vibrating safety-alert driver's seat are an option on the SLT and Denali trims.
