The 2016 GMC Yukon XL is part of the vehicle's fourth generation, launched in 2015. This full-size, extended-length SUV received a 5-star overall safety rating from NHTSA and is known for its robust towing capacity. Available in three trims (SLE, SLT, and Denali), it comes standard with a 5.3L V8 engine producing 355 horsepower, except for the Denali trim which houses a 6.2L V8 engine churning out 420 horsepower. Both engines pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission, with optional four-wheel drive. Key safety features include a standard rearview camera and rear parking sensors. The Yukon XL is also equipped with an 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay, making it one of the first GMC vehicles to get this tech. For 2016, an enhanced Driver Alert Package became available.
