2016 Jeep Compass Overview

The 2016 Jeep Compass, part of the first generation Compass line, is a compact crossover SUV offered in Sport and Latitude trims. Powered by a standard 158-hp 2.0L four-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, a more robust 172-hp 2.4L engine with an optional 6-speed automatic transmission is also available. 4WD is optional on both trims. Standard features include foglights, roof rails, a tilt-only steering wheel, and a 4-speaker sound system with CD player and auxiliary audio jack. Latitude models add keyless entry, air-conditioning, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls. Safety features are typical for a vehicle of its class, with notable inclusions such as stability and traction control, antilock disc brakes, front-seat side airbags, and side curtain-type airbags.
