The 2016 Mazda MAZDA6 is part of the vehicle's third generation, which debuted in 2014. It is a front-wheel drive midsize sedan offered in three trims: Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring. All trims are powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 184 horsepower and is mated to a standard six-speed manual transmission. An optional six-speed automatic is also available. Inside, the MAZDA6 impresses with its upmarket materials and 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which comes standard with Bluetooth connectivity. Mazda Connect, the company's high-tech infotainment interface, also comes standard across all trims. Safety features include standard stability and traction control, antilock disc brakes, and a suite of airbags. The Grand Touring model exclusively features Mazda's i-ELOOP regenerative braking system and active grille shutters for enhanced fuel efficiency. For 2016, the vehicle received a minor facelift and improvements in its interior materials and infotainment system.
